Success By 6 in Hope
Hope and Area Nurturing Development Source (HANDS) is an early childhood development committee made up of multiple partners with a shared interest in improving the lives of young children and families in Hope and area. Membership consists of stakeholders, parents, service providers and local government representatives who network to help increase awareness about the importance of the early years; and to encourage the whole community to take part in supporting families as they raise their young children. HANDS is the advisory board for the Hope and Fraser Canyon ECD Community Liaisons.
The Hope Early Childhood Development Community Liaison works with several community partners including Success By 6 to help ensure that families have access to information and resources. The Hope ECD Liaison also currently represents Hope on the Success By 6 Council of Partners.
How has Success By 6 improved the lives of children and families in Hope?
* Success By 6 has provided funding for Storytime in the Park
* Success By 6 has provided funding for The Kids Fest at The Hope Music Fest.
* Success By 6 has provided funding for the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program
* Success By 6 has provided funding for the development of an ECD Hub to serve Hope and outlying areas.
The Community Liaison supports families in the community by informing and linking a project with resources either inside or outside of the community. They are equipped to help with solution building and offer assistance to parents and organizations, either through connecting them with those who may help or by offering personal assistance whenever possible. Liaisons have many great ideas for low-cost ways that everyone can be involved in creating a "family friendly" community.
If you have a "bright idea" for families, or would like to participate with the advisory H.A.N.D.S Committee or Success By 6, parents and service providers are welcomed and encouraged to attend local meetings at Free Rein Associates in Hope.
If you have a project in mind, the ECD Liaison might be able to suggest a few strategies, or even introduce you to some other like-minded people who might assist you.
